PANJIM: BJP National Secretary Shrikanth Sharma on Monday said the government will review special status for all states, and that no State will be given special status but those with revenue deficit will be assisted.
Addressing the media, Sharma said after the 14th Finance Commission, no State has been given a special status and mentioned that those which enjoy the privilege of special status will also be reviewed. “The central government has already given Rs 11,000 crore to Goa, which is special status and is committed to provide any assistance to Goa,” Sharma said.
Speaking on the issue of casinos he said, “Operation of casinos will be permitted if the Indian federal law permits.”
He said the BJP government has been able to give a corruption-free government and threw an open challenge to the opposition to prove if there was any form of corruption in the party. “After BJP government came to power in 2012 in Goa, it has been successful in introducing various schemes. BJP is the only party to strive towards development with the motto of progress,” he added.
Taking a dig at the Congress government, he said the Congress footprint in the country has reduced as their main policy included scams, corruption and crime.
Sharma also came strongly against AAP saying they will not be a hurdle to the BJP in the upcoming elections. “AAP government only knows to protest and create nuisance. A majority of the promises made by the AAP government in Delhi have not been fulfilled,” he said.
