No taker of tenders for Kadamba bus stand repair works

Some bus stands required repair works before monsoon

Panjim: Kadamba Bus Stand in some parts of the State are in a dilapidated condition but the tender process for their repair works could not be completed. Some of the buses stands needed immediate attention before the monsoons but got delayed due to the cumbersome tender process. In some cases, there are no takers for tenders to repair bus stands.

Speaking to Herald TV Ulhas Tuenkar, Navelim MLA and Chairman of KTC said, “Bus stands such as those of Margao, Vasco and Ponda were to be taken up for repairs. Estimates were made by our engineers and the work was to be tendered. But the process could not be completed and the work was delayed.”

For the Cuncolim bus stand, there was no response to the tenders, said Tuenkar. “The work should have been completed before the rains, but that did not happen. The other repair works have been delayed due to some reasons,” he said.

He further said Cuncolim bus stand repair work has to be retendered.

Panjim KTC bus shelter roof sheets were blown off and have not been replaced. The bus stand and its surroundings are littered with garbage and the nullah that flows near the bus stand is badly polluted.
