Now on BDO to issue occupancy certificate

VASCO: Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho on Wednesday said no occupancy certificate to the residential complexes, which consists more than four flats, in the village panchayat areas will be given unless the residential project has its own sewage treatment facility and garbage disposal mechanism in place. 
He said,”The occupancy certificate will be given through Block Development Officer for such projects and not by the panchayats.
In a press briefing here, panchayat minister stated that the Directorate of Panchayat has decided to go strict on the rules to give occupancy certificates to the residential complex projects which consists more than four flats. 
Godinho said, “Such projects must have their own sewage treatment facility and the garbage disposal mechanism to take care of its own garbage.” 
He further revealed that henceforth the occupancy certificates to such residential projects will be given through Block Development Officer and if panchayat intervenes and issues occupancy to such projects then strict action will be initiated.
Meanwhile, commenting on the Grade Separator at the Dabolim Airport, the minister said that due to the monsoon and the pending work of the road connectivity to this separator, the structure is yet to be operational. “This grade separator will be operational soon after the completion of some pending work which will ease the heavy flow of traffic near airport,” he added.
