Nuvem locals protest over slow pace of subway work

MARGAO, MAY 4
The Nuvem Civic and Consumer Forum on Monday demonstrated near the subway under construction at Nuvem to protest over the slow pace of work.
Activists under the banner of the Consumer Forum demanded that the government complete the much acclaimed project accord top priority .
The activists also demanded full transparency on the abandoned work and the financial implications.
Activist Olencio Fernandes alleged there was a hole in the subway and claimed the subway has no provision for drainage network to take care of rain water.
He has sought the immediate intervention of the Sub divisional magistrate and demanded that Executive Engineer R M Deshpande disclose the present status of the subway.
