VASCO: Nuvem MLA Wilfred D’Sa held a meeting with the local farmers from Dulape-Verna area over the issue of mud road near their fields.
The farmers hailed MLA for solving their long pending issue of road access to their fields.
MLA D’Sa urged the local panch not to spread rumours and create unnecessary confusion among the farmers.
Speaking to the reporters, Nuvem MLA D’Sa said, “One panch who is now making this into an issue has himself signed a resolution and this resolution was also sent to District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) demanding for this mud road. The farmers have already obtained necessary NOCs from the landowners and after that the mud road has been done.”
He further mentioned that any sort of development which would benefit the farmers should not be stopped.
D’Sa also appealed the panch member not to create any confusion and issue among the farmers and urged to support the local farmers.
When questioned about the same, D’Sa revealed that after he got elected, he had a meeting with the local farmers to hear their grievances and to support them. There was a major issue to unavailability of mud road to walk towards their fields and people were dependent on the bundhs. Farmers use to pass through the private land which the landowners were against. Later, the sarpanch and the farmers got the NOCs from the landowners and the mud road was made. Back then the panch member had also demanded for this mud road but due to the delay in obtaining NOCs the road work got delayed. Few days back a video was circulated with one panch and one person claiming this place will get some developmental projects, but the fact is, this entire area is paddy fields and farmers are farming here.
