‘Omega’ App to monitor vehicle movement on major check-posts

PANJIM: Info Tech Corporation of Goa Limited (ITG), a Government of Goa undertaking, in coordination with Directorate of Information and Technology in association with Imagine Works, Margao has developed a web application “Omega” for effective implementation and monitoring of Central Government guidelines issued by Ministry of Home Affairs.

This application will be used to monitor at all major border check-posts of the State for inter-State movement of vehicles. 

It will monitor the vehicles entry and exit at the border check-posts and will monitor the vehicle management using cellular network and web-based software to show the status of the desired vehicle, passengers, operators travelling in the vehicles and report for any inconsistencies.

The significant feature of this application is to track illegal and unauthorised movement of people. Report generated will be flagged to the concerned authorities on real-time basis to take the appropriate cognizance with regards to the vehicle, drivers, helpers, passengers, etc.

The operation of this software has already been started at five check-posts namely Patradevi, Dodamarg, Keri, Mollem and Pollem.

ITG being a Government of Goa undertaking has offered the solution free of cost to the State under its social responsibility along with the IT staff to oversee the implementation in these difficult and testing times impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
