Civil society groups had been complaining to the police department that some traffic personnel including women personnel were found talking continuously on cellphones instead of regulating traffic.
Garg, who visited five police stations in the north district, assured the citizens to hold a special meeting with the traffic officers to resolve other traffic-related issues. He is expected to visit South Goa police stations after completing inspections at the north. Department officials said the IPS officer is also holding interactions with general public.
including senior citizens in each police station jurisdiction he has been visiting.
With Goa police striving to improve police-community relationship, Garg has appealed to the people to be the ‘eyes and ears’ of the police department to thwart possible criminal acts. He also said the force should crack down on criminals.
The senior officer also spoke with the Panjim police where he was informed about the shortage of police sub-inspectors. He has assured to resolve the problem.
