One arrested for attacking elderly woman

Bicholim Police on Monday arrested a 40-year-old man from Talewadi-Matne, Bicholim, on charges of attacking a 70-year-old woman from Bordem-Bicholim.
According to sources, police arrested Uddhesh Krishna Shirodkar and sent him to police custody.
It may be recalled that one Laxmi Shamba Halarnakar from Bordem was allegedly attacked by a person, after she denied giving him Rs 200.
The person who had worked at Laxmi’s house for a day last year came to her on September 7 and demanded Rs 200, which he needed.
Laxmi told him that she did not have any money and asked him to leave. The woman later went inside her house and when she was having food, the person rushed inside the house and hit her on her head.
Laxmi was rushed to PHC Bicholim. Laxmi was unable to tell the name of the accused but faintly remembered the place from where he came from.
Based on the clue, Bicholim Police laid a trap and arrested Uddhesh from Talewadi. PSI T P Walke is investigating the case.
