PONDA: Ponda Police on Monday arrested 40-year-old Bhoma-Adkon resident Nilesh alias Ritesh Gopal Naik for allegedly kidnapping a minor girl.
According to police, the accused befriended the minor girl and kidnapped her. The victim’s family also alleged that the accused lured the minor girl and stayed with her in a rented room at Curchorem.
Based on the complaint lodged by the girl’s parents, police conducted a search operation and arrested the accused at Curchorem. The minor has been sent for medical examination at Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim. The police have registered an offence against the accused under Section 363 of IPC and under Goa Children’s Act.
Ponda Police are conducting further investigations.
