One arrested with suspected drugs at Calangute market

CALANGUTE: The police arrested a West Bengal native with suspected drugs worth Rs 24,000 on Tuesday at Calangute market.
The Calangute police identified the accused as Saddam Hussain Molla (26), a native of Dakshin Dinajpur, West Bengal.
Calangute PI Jivba Dalvi informed that reliable information was received regarding the accused coming behind the Calangute market at Naikawado with some drugs for delivery to prospective customers. 
Accordingly, a team was formed consisting of LPSI Sapna Gawas and other staff and further the police waited at Calangute market, Calangute in civil clothes. On seeing the accused coming to the spot, the police immediately rounded him up and detained him at the spot. The raid went on from 9.30 pm to 11 pm.
On searching the accused, he was found in possession of Ganja worth Rs 24,000 in the international market.
The accused was brought to the police station and placed under arrest.  An offence under section 20(b)(ii)(A) of NDPS Act, 1985 has been registered.
