Mapusa: Sixty-eight-year-old Ashok Mulgaonkar, a resident of Sirsaim died in a road accident reported at Tivim.
According to Mapusa police, the accident took place at 12.55 pm near Dena Bank at Tivim. The victim was travelling to Mapusa on his scooter. However, on reaching at Dena Bank, the truck driver tried to jump lane and at that time the scooter collided with the truck. The impact was such that Ashok sustained serious injuries and was immediately shifted to Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim where succumbed while undergoing treatment. Mapusa police have registered a case and have arrested truck driver Raj Singh, a native of Jharkhand for rash and negligent driving
