One drowns, another goes missing

Tragedy hit a group of professionals who had come down to attend a conference at a starred resort at Cavelossim.
Colva police said a 50 year old native of Pune, Sanjeev Shinde met a water grave after he got drowned in the sea this morning.
Police said a group of persons had ventured into the sea for swimming this morning. While the remaining members returned on shore, the deceased was in the waters when he was pulled inside by the strong undercurrents.
His body was later handed over to the relatives. The Colva police have registered a case of unnatural death.
Meanwhile, a 25-year old lad from Cuncolim, Ashish Ashok Redkar went missing after he along with two others had gone for a swim at Rajbag beach at Cabo de Rama on Saturday evening.
While the two youth swam to safety, Ashish went missing this evening. The coast guard was alerted to trace the missing lad.
Cuncolim police said they are recording the statements of the two youngsters, who were with Ashish at Rajbagh this evening.
The police are investigating.
