MARGAO: Colva Police on Saturday arrested one Amit Birajdar (35), resident of Dharwad-Karnataka for driving his car in a rash and negligent manner and under the influence of alcohol.

Police said, “Amit was arrested under Section 279, 336 of Indian Penal Code and Section 185 of Motor Vehicle Act for driving his car Ford Fiesta in a rash and negligent manner and under the influence of liquor.”
According to police, Amit was proceeding towards Colva from Margao and when he reached Ambica junction, Colva, he was stopped. After he was put to alcohol breath analyser test, alcohol levels were found above the limit.
Police said, “Head Constable of Colva Traffic Cell Apa Satpalkar has lodged a complaint with the Colva Police and based on that an offence was registered against Amit.”
