CURCHOREM: Curchorem Police arrested a resident of Kumvashir-Adnem Balli, Quepem, in connection with misappropriation of Rs 8.82 lakh from a society in Curchorem.
According to Curchorem Police, the accused, Santosh Velip, was transferred from Balli to Curchorem in February as in-charge of the Curchorem counter. The internal auditor noticed that the accused had failed to deposit Rs 8.82 lakh in the society’s account.
Police further informed that Velip was given 10 days to refund the amount but he allegedly failed to do so.
Acting on a complaint filed by the internal auditor Premanand Bhisso Velip, Curchorem Police arrested the accused under Section 408. PSI Therron D’Costa is investigating the case under the supervision of PI Siddhant Shirodkar.
