PONDA: Ponda Police on Tuesday arrested Mohandas Yashwant Naik (53), resident of Dhavli, Ponda for threatening a lady and two others with a 12 bore rifle on petty issue.
According to police, the incidence occurred on Tuesday evening at Dhavli, where the accused threatened complainant lady over some petty issue under the influence of alcohol. After the altercation, the accused person threatened the complainant and her two friends with dire consequences to kill them and further used his 12 bore rifle and fired a round in open air. Mohandas was found to be in illegal possession of the rifle as he was not possessing any valid fire arm licence.
He was immediately detained and placed under arrest. The police have recovered the 12 bore rifle used by the accused and also recovered the empty bullet case.
