MARGAO: Cuncolim Police arrested one Sandeep Patil in Kolhapur involved in kidnapping of a minor school student from Salcete. Based on the information, a team led by Police Sub-Inspector Kavita Rawat was sent to Kolhapur and they found alleged accused Sandeep was staying in a rented room.
He was brought at Cuncolim Police Station and lodged in police custody.

The police said, “The victim girl was also rescued from Kolhapur and handed over to the family members. Based on the complaint lodged by her mother, the police have registered an offence under Section 363 of IPC for kidnapping and 8 of Goa Children Act against the accused.
“The accused will be sent for medical examination,” the police said.
The police added, “The mother of victim girl informed that her minor daughter had left for school in the morning. However, till late evening she did not return home.”
