PANJIM: Panjim Police have arrested one person, while two suspects are under the scanner for allegedly stealing electronic appliances from stock rooms of a starred resort on the outskirts of Panjim.
In two separate offences registered against Girish Phalke and two contract workers, the company officials alleged that five LED televisions worth Rs 1.12 lakh; 200AB (100 battery, one 65AB battery and 3 100 AB battery) all worth Rs 1.56 lakh were missing from the stock rooms.
“During regular audit and inspection, the officials found that the items were missing. They zeroed in on Phalke and suspected two others for the theft after which they lodged police complaints. We have registered the case and are investigating the matter,” a police officer said.
Phalke has been remanded to two days police custody while other staff will be quizzed as part of the probe.
