Those injured included the wife of the rider of a Hero Honda Passion motorcycle, constable Jiwas Desai, his wife Vidya and their six-year-old son Viprang, residents of Culwaddo-Cuncolim. They are all admitted in Goa Medical College and hospital, Bambolim.
According to Cuncolim Police, the driver of the Eco van Sanjay Velip was proceeding from Margao to Cuncolim and on reaching the speed breaker at Pazarconi-Cuncolim he lost control over the vehicle and dashed against the oncoming Suzuki and Hero Honda two-wheelers.
While Ramnath died in the accident, the four injured are convalescing in the hospital. Velip has been booked for rash and negligent driving causing death and further investigation is in progress.
