PANJM: Deadlock over seat-sharing between BJP and MGP continued with both parties not willing to budge from their respective positions even as alliance talks have been on for over a month now.
The MGP is asking for 12-13 seats while BJP is not willing to offer more than 3 to 4 even though it is keen that the alliance should shape up to avoid a split in votes.
Speaking to
“Their demand is unjustified as it has representation in just two constituencies”, Parsekar said adding his party is not in favour of giving more than four seats to them.
The BJP is also upset by the fact that MGP has gone to town revealing details of alliance talks and their demands. “Our workers are upset by the claims of MGP leaders. Details of alliance talks should have remained within four walls until the final decision”, he said.
The BJP is also not happy with the fact that Transport Minister Sudin Dhavlikar has still not severed ties with the Government.
The BJP State President, however, said they have not set any deadline to MGP and would like to conclude the talks at the earliest. The BJP plans to release its final list of candidates by February 2 or 3, he added.
