Oppn MLAs to meet and plan strategies to corner government

PANJIM: Opposition MLAs have decided to meet on Monday, January 8, to formulate a unified strategy to highlight issues of significance to the people for the ensuing State Legislative Assembly session commencing from February 2.

According to the office of the Leader of the Opposition Yuri Alemao, a meeting of Congress Legislature Party (CLP) will be held at the Goa Assembly Complex, Porvorim which will be followed by the meeting of the all seven opposition MLAs. The meeting will discuss issues concerning the people and formulate a strategy to corner the Pramod Sawant-led government on the floor of the House. 

“Meeting convened at 3 pm followed by Meeting of Opposition MLAs at 4.30 pm at the Chamber of Leader of Opposition at Assembly Complex, Porvorim on Monday, 8th January 2024 to discuss the Legislative Assembly Session,” a statement from the Opposition Leader’s office said.

Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai has summoned six-day session of the Assembly starting from February 2 to 9. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will present the annual budget of the State during the session. As it is the first session of the year, it will start with the address of the Governor.
