Oppn set to corner govt on Mhadei, drugs & CAA

PANJIM: The Opposition is set to corner the BJP-led government on some of the crucial issues such as Mhadei water diversion, growing drug menace, State’s bad financial position and Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) during the upcoming Budget Session of the State Legislative Assembly, commencing on February 3. 
The Congress Legislative Party (CLP) has decided to raise the crucial issues haunting the State in coordination with the other Opposition MLAs including those from Goa Forward Party (GFP), MGP and Independent. 
Opposition Leader Digambar Kamat on Monday took to social media to announce that the opposition is all set to seek solution on the issues from the Government on the floor of the House. 
“Mhadei, CAA, drugs, law and order, unemployment, bad finances will be the focus of the upcoming Goa Legislative Assembly session,” Kamat tweeted. 
“The Congress Legislative Party will raise these issues in coordination with the other opposition MLAs and demand solutions from the government,” he tweeted further. 
The opposition Congress has five MLAs, GFP three, MGP and Independent with one each. 
The five-day long Budget session will conclude on February 7. 
Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant will table his first full-fledged budget 2020-21 on February 6.
