PANJIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Friday announced that opportunity would be provided in the government departments to the staffers of Goa Human Resource Development Corporation (GHRDC), whenever the vacancies are created in the departments.
While felicitating the COVID-19 warriors from the GHRDC, Sawant also urged the staffers to upgrade their skills and pursue further education for which the Corporation would provide support.
“We can accommodate the staff from the Corporation, whenever vacancies are created, so that the need for frequent interviews and advertisement by the government does not arise. Also, this will help our staff to hone their skills,” he said.
Sawant added that their experience as steno, clerk, computer operator, LDC will count when the permanent vacancy arises in the government departments.
The Chief Minister said the GHRDC needs to expand its scope and urged the staff to pursue further education.
“We need upgradation of skills and education also. There is a provision in Goa Board to complete Class X and Class XII. You all are young and should complete the education. The Corporation should support those who want to pursue further studies,” Sawant said.
Meanwhile, Sawant praised work of the staff of the Corporation during COVID-19 pandemic.
“Even relatives are scared to go near COVID patients but our staff from GHRDC has done selfless service to the people of Goa by working in frontline. I congratulate you all for this,” he said.
The Chief Minister, who is the chairman of GHRDC, felicitated 30 security staff for their frontline services during COVID-19 pandemic.
