PONDA: The Additional Sessions Court in Ponda will pronounce its order on the two anticipatory bail applications moved by Mangueshi temple Priest Dhanajay Bhave (51) on Saturday.
Bhave moved an application for anticipatory bail on July 20 after the Ponda police registered an FIR against him on the previous day following an e-mail complaint from a US-based Goan origin girl alleging that she was molested at the temple by Bhave on June 22.
Later, a Mumbai-based Goan origin girl also complained that she was also was molested at the temple by Bhave on June 14. Following this, Ponda police registered another FIR against Bhave, who filed a second application for anticipatory bail.
Arguments on both these applications were heard on July 27 by Additional Session Judge Bella Naik and posted the matter for orders on August 4.
Meanwhile, the Mumbai-based victim came to Ponda police station on July 31 and recorded her statement. Police also recorded the statements of Mangueshi temple authorities.
Police say that they are also trying to record statement of the US-based girl who was the first to file complaint to police on July 19. Police are expecting the victim to come to Ponda Police Station to record her statement; if that doesn’t happen, police may record her statement through video conferencing with due approval of authorities.
