It may be recalled that the last gram sabha in April was adjourned and at that gram sabha, the villagers had raised concerned over the time duration for the demarcation of the ground. The villagers urged the panchayat to follow up the matter and get the requisite order passed.
Based on this, the gram sabha held on Sunday, a resolution was adopted to expedite the process to get the ground in the village demarcated.
The panchayat was also asked from several members of the gram sabha to explain the status of the desilting works in the village jurisdiction. However, sarpanch Gaudencio Luis said the efforts of the panchayat to carry out desilting should be appreciated given that the water bodies had not been maintained for several years instead of making accusatory remarks.
The sarpanch explained that 20 water bodies had been desilted and how the same had been ignored for decades and pointed out that all the desilting work had been completed prior to the monsoon. Other issues regarding civic and development issues were also discussed.
