The announcement was made following a declaration by GRB Chairman Rajesh Faldessai, who confirmed that the process of transferring ownership of the housing units to occupants would be completed shortly.
Welcoming the decision, Amonkar expressed gratitude to Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for facilitating the long-pending demand of residents. According to the MLA, the Chief Minister responded positively to requests from local representatives and approved a nominal charge of ₹1,000 per housing unit for the transfer of ownership.
The decision is expected to benefit over 350 families who have been residing in the GRB housing complex for several years while awaiting legal ownership of their homes.
