Ozario calls for unity among Konkani artists

MARGAO: Noted Mangalore-based Konkani writer Eric Ozario has said that the time has come for all the Konkani artists to unite and come together to give good and quality music to society.

MARGAO: Noted Mangalore-based Konkani writer Eric Ozario has said that the time has come for all the Konkani artists to unite and come together to give good and quality music to society.
Speaking at the release of Konkani album ‘Moga Mhajya’ at the Naguesh gardens here, the Konkani activist also underlined the need to break barriers between regions of Konkan area to represent Konkani language at the national and international platforms. Commenting on the Moga Mhajya album, he said, “Out of the 12 albums released from December 2013 till date, Moga Mhajya stands at No one position because of melodious tunes and lyrics”.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest, Ravindra Bhavan Chairman, Damu Naik, said, “There are many people who produce musical albums in Goa, but at the same time new and innovative methods to market these albums is necessary”.
He also called for a stop to copying of songs on a pen drive and circulating it from computer to computer. Instead, one should buy CD from a shop and appreciate the hard work of the producer and the singers.
