The Sarpanch has accused Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco of helping all Goans and Goa but not his own constituency. The panchas alleged that even the PWD doesn’t cooperate with the works in the village.
The sarpanch complained that there are 4 to 5 places in Curtorim which are under threat of being flooded as the work of de-silting hasn’t happened this year around. “There are potholes on roads which need to be repaired as they are increasing in size and will be a reason for serious accidents,” said Simon.
“The MLA of Curtorim hasn’t entertained our problems even once. We have met him and have been telling him our problems for three years. He is grossly mistaken,” said Simon.
“The MLA hasn’t entered the panchayat in two years. And now adding to the woes all the urgent works are held up,” said Santan Rodrigues, Panch of Curtorim.
The Executive Engineer of Division VI has however promised the panchas of getting their work done on priority.
Lourenco however denied the charges and even pointed out that he spent the morning at his office with the farmers where discussions were held about their various issues and that action was being initiated in that direction in Maina fields. He reiterated that he had worked towards addressing all the issues of his constituency and pre-monsoon works like roads, etc, had been completed and reminded that he had done all this in his 9 years in succession in the opposition.
