According to sources, Sancoale Sarpanch Ramakant Borkar along with the secretary and aggrieved residents inspected the mobile tower on Wednesday morning. However, despite the panchayat direction to be present for the inspection, the owner of the building remained absent.
Sources further say that during the inspection, it was clarified by the panchayat secretary that no permission was granted by the panchayat for the mobile tower, hence, the same is illegal.
Sarpanch Borkar reportedly informed the residents that their wish to maintain the MES College residential area mobile tower free would be respected.
Borkar also reportedly requested the residents to defer their planned protest on Saturday so as to give him the time to complete the legal process for demolishing the mobile tower at Vidyanagar.
However, the members of Vidyanagar Residents Welfare Association (VRWA) reportedly asked the panchayat to start with the formalities and the decision to defer their plan to block the NH17B would be communicated to the panchayat after consulting all the members of the association.
