Panch’s sister allowed to assist prosecution

PANJIM: The High Court of Bombay at Goa has partly allowed intervention petition of Akshaya Govekar, the sister of former Merces sarpanch Prakash Naik in the anticipatory bail application of Wilson Godinho.
With this, she has been allowed to assist the Public Prosecutor in the case and can file written arguments. Naik’s sister, on Tuesday, filed an intervention plea days after Godinho approached the High Court challenging district court’s order denying him relief.
During the hearing, Wilson’s counsel argued that Naik’s death was not suicide, but murder.
