Opposition Leader Manohar Parrikar has said he would declare his panel within a week, once the Election Commission declares date of election of CCP.
Parrikar was speaking to media during the sideline of inauguration of Cortalim BJP Block office at Shimpal-Sancoale on Tuesday evening.
It may be recalled that Taleagao MLA Babush Monseratte had recently declared his panel for the ensuing CCP election.
“Let the EC declare date of election and most importantly let the wards that will be reserved be declared. Without knowing this, it will be unfair to declare panel,” stated Parrikar.
“Suppose, after the panel is declared, particular wards are reserved for women, then it would dishearten the aspiring candidates,” added Parrikar.
Without naming Monseratte, he alleged that he (Monseratte) might know internally which wards will be reserved. “Hence he has declared his panel or he might not care for the sentiments of the aspiring candidates,” added Parrikar. He said whoever may be in his panel, but his panel will be headed by former Mayor Ashok Naik.
