Panjim DySP, Fire Services Director to be awarded for meritorious services

PANJIM: Director of Fire and Emergency Service Nitin Raikar and Panjim DySP Sudesh Naik have been respectively chosen for Fire Service Medal and the Police Medal for their meritorious service, announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), New Delhi, on Monday, on the occasion of Independence Day 2023. 

Also four Civil Defence medal awardees from Goa namely Assistant Section Leader Pramod Saraf, Lady Home Guard volunteer Varsha Nagoji, Civil Defence volunteer late Prahlad Mayenkar (CD) and Post Warden Vijay Surlikar (CD), are among 48 personnel/volunteers awarded Home Guards and Civil Defence Medals.

DySP Sudesh Naik is among 642 policemen from across the country who have been awarded Police Medal for Meritorious Service for their valuable service characterised by resource and devotion to duty.

Raiker, who is among 53 personnel awarded Fire Service Medal, joined the Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services on January 3, 1991 as Assistant Station Fire Officer and promoted as Station Fire Officer on December 24, 1998 and to the post of Assistant Divisional Officer on August 11, 2010. He is the recipient of Goa Chief Minister’s Fire Service Medal for Meritorious Service on the occasion of Goa Liberation Day, 2008. He has successfully completed Advanced Diploma in Fire Engineering from National Fire Service College, Nagpur and is also holding a Fellowship from the Institution of Fire Engineers, United Kingdom during his 32 years of service.
