Panjim faces power interruptions

PANJIM (HR): Panjim and surrounding areas faced some power interruptions Saturday due to failure of equipment at Kadamba Sub-station.
Sources said due to the breakdown of the equipment, load had to be restricted in some areas in the night as it happened during peak hours. Anyway, Goa faces slight shortage of power during peak hours – 6.30 pm to 11 pm. As soon as the equipment failed, a group of engineers were deputed to the Kadamba sub-station to get it repaired. After examination of the equipment, they felt that solution lies only in getting it replaced.
The equipment needs replacement which would be done tomorrow (Sunday), Chief Electrical Engineer Nirmal Braganza told Herald.
Parts of Panjim was plunged in darkness at around 7.10 pm and power was restored only after an hour.
