PANJIM: The immunisation centre for Panjim has now been shifted from Urban Health Centre to Don Bosco Oratory to maintain hassle-free COVID vaccination drive, which will be operational from May 10 (today).
Addressing media persons, City Mayor Rohit Monserrate said a total of 500 people can be accommodated in a day for vaccination at the Don Bosco Oratory.
He said that Panjim Urban Health Centre will now only have COVID testing facility. “The Health Centre was dealing with both testing and vaccination at the same time. Hence, there is worry that those coming for vaccination, can get infected,” Monserrate stated.
The Mayor said the centre will be operational from Monday from 9 am to 5 pm every day. He said all the required equipment have been shifted to the new centre.
In view of the fast approaching monsoon, the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) will common fogging operations in the city.
The Urban Health Centre, Panjim reported 1,950 active cases on Saturday.
Navelim swap centre shifted
The swab testing centre at PHC Navelim has been shifted to Dr F L Gomes Hall, Rosary Sports Complex, Navelim from May 10.
