PANJIM: The Panjim police on Wednesday filed their reply before the adhoc civil judge senior division and judicial magistrate first court (JMFC), Panjim stating that the complaint filed by Congress president Girish Chodankar has been forwarded to the Porvorim Police Station, on point of jurisdiction and for necessary action at their end.
On two occasions the Panjim police had sought time to file its reply to Chodankar’s criminal miscellaneous application to register First Information Report (FIR) against 10 rebel Congress MLAs and others for forging documents.
The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) president has approached the court under section 156 (3) of CrPC praying for registration of FIR against the 10 rebel party MLAs and 53 others for allegedly forging party documents and to conduct free and proper investigations and to timely submit the progress of investigations to the court.
Chodankar had filed his complaint with the Panaji police on April 21 this year seeking filing of FIR against 10 rebel Congress MLAs and others for allegedly preparing forging party documents to create fake evidences before the Goa Assembly Speaker, who was hearing disqualification petitions against the legislators.
The petitioner subsequently filed another complaint to the SP North on May 5. But the police failed to register FIR on complaints in respect of forgery/fraud and other offences committed under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code 1860.
The matter will now come up for hearing before the court on August 2.
