PANJIM: The State government submitted the revised Smart City Proposal (SCP) for Panjim to the Union Ministry for Urban Development under ‘fast-track competition’ on Wednesday.
The Rs 1099.94 crore SCP drafted by ICLEI South Asia, received the State Level High Powered Steering Committee and Corporation of the City of Panaji council approval.
Panjim MLA Siddharth Kunkalienkar confirmed that the proposal has been sent to the Union Ministry.
Panjim had failed to find a place in the first 20 cities selected for the Smart City Mission in January. The city now ranks 5th in the Fast Track Competition list, which has 22 more cities competing.
The revised SCP has attached additional information regarding ongoing city based development projects.
