The IPSCDL official said that the Electricity Department, which is the executing agency had already prepared the estimates of Rs 44 crore and had also given its technical approval. The proposal is now awaiting the green signal from the IPSCDL Board and once approved tenders will be floated to start the work.

All the new poles will have Smart components/features such as sensors and will be mounted with energy efficient LED bulbs. These Smart street lighting poles will be automatically operated and the LED bulbs will be programmed with day and night timings so that the street lights will automatically go on and off. The poles will be of different sizes ie four, six and eight metres long.
