MARGAO: Train services on the Konkan Railway route have been disrupted due to the derailment of a goods train in the Panvel yard on Saturday. Several trains on the route have been cancelled, partially cancelled, short terminated, re-scheduled and diverted.
The railway authorities have taken swift action, relocating 54 of the train’s wagons to the Kalamboli yard. Efforts are ongoing to re-rail the derailed wagons, and restoration work is being carried out. Approximately 300 meters of track have been damaged, and a team of around 250 workers is diligently working to complete the repairs. Passengers are advised to take note of these changes, and any inconvenience caused is regretted, said Railway authorities.
