Paramilitary forces to be deployed for polls

PANJIM: Director General of Police (DGP) Indra Dev Shukla on Wednesday said that 20 companies of paramilitary forces have already arrived in Goa even as the Government of India has deployed 55 companies for Assembly elections.

Speaking to the media persons on the sidelines of Republic Day function at Campal Parade ground, Shukla said that the Goa Police is fully prepared to handle the Goa  Assembly elections and all measures have been undertaken to maintain law and order situation in the State. Area domination in each constituency is going on. Police have already identified its history sheeters and new history sheeters and surveillance over them is being maintained. 

Shukla added that Goa Police has renewed its externment cases and new goons have been added to the list.
