Parents of Lok Chetana to meet over fee hike
PANJIM (HR): Sore over the raise in monthly fees of their wards studying in the Education Department-recognised Lok Chetana pre-primary and primary school based at Mala, here, more than 100 parents are gathering at a meeting to bring the issue to the notice of the management on Saturday.
The school’s Parents Teachers Association Chairperson Srikrishna Haldankar said the meeting has been called tomorrow at 11 am where the chairman of the school Suhas Sardesai has also been called. At this meeting we will come to a consensus on the next step to be taken in this matter, he mentioned.
Haldankar mentioned last year he paid Rs 400 as monthly fee for his daughter who is now studying in Std IV. “This year without informing the parents the fees have been raised to Rs 1,350. When parents went to pay the admission fees they were not told about the new fee structure,” he stated.
He said the headmistress when contacted told him she couldn’t do anything. Tomorrow we have called the chairman to let him know hat we don’t agree to this abrupt increase in the monthly fees, he stated.
