MARGAO: Congress MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco has accused Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar of merely using people to get votes and forgetting the promises he had made to those very people after getting elected and said if Congress forms the next government all those who were betrayed by Parrikar would be given relief.
Briefing media persons he said Parrikar as leader of Opposition had promised the youngsters who had got the Diploma in Security and Investigation Technology at the Government Polytechnic Altinho Panjim to provide jobs in the police department.
“The 36 students who passed the three year course in three batches have not got any job till date,” he said while pointing out that the chief minister has not even responded to his two letters written to him last year in January and in June.
He said these youngsters could be given jobs in the police department to look after the investigation section of the department and giving this as an example accused Manohar of only making promises on providing jobs to the youth but actually doing nothing about it.
He demanded that the BJP government immediately employ these students who have invested three years to study the special course and added that if the Congress comes to power he will take up their issue with his party government.
