PANJIM: Even though the Vijay Sankalp rally that saw a historic turnout of over one lakh people, was BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi centric, Goa chief minister took the entire glimpse with central leaders praising him over his leadership qualities.
“Just imagine what if Parrikar were to be at the Centre. The entire nation would have known a simplest person with such high educational qualification,” Modi said while adding that ‘BJP party needs leaders like Parrikar who came from a middle class family and now rules the State like Goa’.
The three-time Gujarat chief minister praised Parrikar for continuing the developmental work despite financial harships, due to closer of mining activities. “Only this man (Parrikar) can do this,” he commented. Parrikar was the first person who had openly supported Modi as prime ministerial candidate of BJP, at a time when the party was going through a revolt within itself over the issue.
While calling Parrikar the “most famous” chief minister across the country, Party national President Rajnath Singh said “It’s due to the hard work of Parrikar that Goa managed to become the only state where the poverty is lowest.”
“At a time when the entire nation was hit by inflation, Parrikar made sure that his people don’t suffer this heat,” he added recalling how Parrikar reduced VAT on petrol by making Goa the only State where the petrol is cheapest amongst all.
