MARGAO: At least 50 Carmona residents met Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar at Colva on Monday to convey their demands regarding the Raheja project in their village. They also explained the difficulties that the village is bound to face if a project as big as Raheja’s comes up in Carmona.
“We have explained to the CM about the chain of events regarding the project. We showed him all the points. He has asked for some time and has said that he will call the concerned authorities and will go through the file,” said a Carmona villager.
He informed that Parsekar has said that he will get back to the villagers after going through the procedure and that he would hold talks with the Public Works Department and Town and Country Planning (TCP) Department to know on what basis they passed the project.
Over 50 Carmona locals protested against the Raheja project by holding banner and placards while Parsekar was laying the foundation stone for a sewerage project at Colva.
Meanwhile, Parsekar has assured the villagers that he would increase the time for raising suggestions and objections to the Regional Plan 2021. He also stated that the Deputy Chief Minister, who is also the TCP minister, has the authority to take decisions on the RP21.
