MARGAO: The process of setting up a passport facilitation counter at Margao took a major leap on Wednesday as officials from the Ministry of External Affairs specially came down to inspect the proposed site at Matanhy Saldanha Administrative Complex, Margao.
The officials, along with the Passport Officer at Margao and Post Master General inspected the premises on Wednesday evening along with Additional Collector Agnelo Fernandes, who was earlier the passport officer in Goa at Panjim.
In fact, during his tenure as the passport officer, Agnelo had started a facilitation centre at Margao, which was disbanded subsequently, due to various reasons.
While the passports will continue to be printed centrally, all subsequent work related to pasport etc, including submission of forms or taking the bio-metric recording will be done at Margao, once the facility became operational.
