Pastor Domnic D’souza and his wife Joan D’souza have been externed from the jurisdiction of North Goa district for a period of six months. The order has been passed by Dr. Sneha Gitte, an IAS officer serving as the District Magistrate of North Goa.
According to the order, Pastor Domnic and his wife Joan are required to report their place of residence to the officer in charge of the nearest police station once every month, even if there is no change in their address. Additionally, if they leave the state of Goa, they must inform the authorities within 10 days of their departure. Upon their return to the state, they are mandated to report their arrival within 10 days to the nearest police station.
The order comes into immediate effect, restricting Pastor Domnic and his wife Joan from residing within the confines of North Goa district. This move raises questions and speculations regarding the reasons behind such an order, yet to be officially disclosed by the authorities.
It can be recalled that earlier in the month of January, Goa Police had arrested Pastor Dominic D’Souza on charges of alleged involvement in black magic and religious conversion activities, following a complaint by Vadivel B, a resident of Tamil Nadu currently residing in Curti-Ponda.
