VASCO: In a hit-and-run case reported at the Pirni junction in Verna on Thursday morning, a pedestrian was killed after being knocked down by an unknown vehicle. According to Verna police, an unknown vehicle driver knocked down a pedestrian one Kishore Gopinath Padhi (55) of Mount Mary, Verna at Pirni junction on Thursday morning and fled.
The impact was such that Kishore died on the spot. The police have registered an offence under Sections 279 and 304 (A) of IPC and Section 134 of MV Act against the unknown vehicle driver. Verna police are further investigating the case.
