MAPUSA: Penha de Franca sarpanch along with villagers on Thursday lodged a complaint against PWD Executive Engineer Eduardo Pereira with the Porvorim Police demanding his arrest for locking the gate of the Science Park thereby restraining the panchayat’s entry.
The complaint states, the Penha de Franca Panchayat had undertaken development of the Science Park, a project meant for Science students and to be utilised as garden for the public at large under MPLAD Scheme.
“The Science Park land is in possession of the panchayat which is maintaining it. However, by locking the gate of the Science Park, the PWD has restrained the panchayat from entering into the Science Park and thus committed an offence of wrongful restraint under Section 341 of Indian Penal Code,” it mentioned.
The villagers claimed that the PWD Engineer has not discharged his official duty but has done so in private capacity.
