Herald: Your presence at Vijai’s carnival programme was more than revelry. Do you want to explore the possibility of forming a new outfit with the 2017 elections in mind?
Reginaldo: Politics is dynamic and not static. I would go by the decision of the people of Curtorim if the situation taking into account interests of theirs and Goans in general.
Herald: Sources say that Reginaldo has started the consultation process to ascertain the views of his constituents on the question of embracing a non-Congress and non-BJP third front.
Reginaldo: Have you not repeatedly heard from the people agitating against the Raia killer road when they openly threaten to teach the Congress and the BJP a lesson? People appeared disillusioned with the BJP and the Congress as well. But, the Congress leaders have not learnt any lesson yet. If my people want, I will ride with the tsunami and not go against it.
Herald: It is learnt that Reginaldo has already conveyed his grievances to the PCC Chief Luizinho Faleiro and CLP leader Pratapsing Rane with a plea to address the people’s aspirations.
Reginaldo: We make mistakes, but people will never tolerate repeated mistakes. The people have taught us a lesson but it appears we don’t want to learn from our mistakes.
Herald: Are you sore with the cronies of some of the party leaders slowing gaining ground in the party organisation?
Reginaldo: Giving importance to these cronies should stop. Congress party’s actions ought to be people centric. People of Delhi have shown the way and if the Congress leaders do not mend their way, people in Goa will also not forgive us.
Herald: Your stand assumes significance and raises questions whether you would abandon the Congress ship in the near future.
Reginaldo: I have started consulting my people of Curtorim constituency. I have found that people are opposed to the BJP and Congress. I am waiting for the green signal from my people to take the next call. I will have no choice but to go with my people.
