PERNEM: The Health Department is yet to put into operation the 100-bed COVID Care Centre, at the Indoor Stadium, Sawalwada-Pernem.
It has been almost a month now that the stadium is handed over to the Health Department to set up the COVID Care Centre for Pernem. The number of coronavirus positive cases reported in Pernem Taluka is on the rise every day.
Mandrem MLA Dayanand Sopte said, “All the facilities at the Indoor Stadium, at Sawalwada-Pernem, to start as COVID Care Centre are ready. Now only, the North Goa collector has to issue further direction. The status of the centre will be known by Tuesday.”
Meanwhile, the Taluka reported 31 new COVID cases on Monday.
Sixteen cases were detected in Mandrem, three in Parsem, two each at Agarwada and Morjim. One each, at Keri, Tuem, Pernem Town and Mopa Airport. Another four, in other parts of the taluka.
