PERNEM, JAN 18
Three persons died after the car in which they were traveling collided against a truck near Government High School in Torsem-Pernem on Sunday at about 3.50 pm.
According to reports, the incident occurred when Santosh Survase (28), Chetan Mandrekar (40) and Nitin Sathe (41), who were proceeding towards Usmanabad (Maharashtra) in their Tata Indica car (MH-25-R-2151), collided against a truck (GA-03-P-4240), coming from the opposite direction.
Mandrekar and Survase died on the spot, while Sathe died on the way to the hospital.
It is learnt that all the three deceased along with two others had come to Goa, but the other two persons stayed back in Goa.
The truck driver fled from the site. Pernem police have registered a case against the truck driver for rash and negligent driving and is investigating the case.
