Pilgrims gift Sanctuary St Joseph Vaz statues

MARGAO: The 35 pilgrims from Sri Lanka have gifted the St Joseph Vaz Sanctuary at Sancoale statues of the patron saint. The pilgrims visited the sanctuary at Sancoale
“The two wooden statues that can be seen below the altar are gifted by the visiting pilgrims. The third statue is also being sent to Benaulim home of St. Joseph Vaz,” said Daniel de Souza. 
The visiting pilgrims who have kept this annual tradition alive for the last 25 years had attended the special Mass at St Joseph Vaz Sanctuary. 
The Mass was offered by rector of St Joseph Vaz Sanctuary Fr Eremito Rebello in the presence of secretary to Archbishop of Goa and Daman Fr Joaquim Loyala Pereira and Fr Jayalath Balagalla who is affiliated to the National Secretariat of St Joseph Vaz in Sri Lanka. 
Member of National Secretariat of St Joseph Vaz Sri Lanka Angelo Lovendhal  said the pilgrim group has visited Vailankanni, Mysore, miracle hill of Muduppu, St Joseph Vaz Shrine in Sancoale, St Vaz’s maternal and paternal places in Goa.
 and will be visiting St Xavier Church, Basilica of Bom Jesus and Se Cathedral Church in Old Goa  among other religious places in the State.
